This project presented an interesting challenge for Kettle River. The project was designed with exposed-timber structure. Unfortunately, the initial framers installed timbers that were too small and poor quality for such a significant home. Our solution was to ‘wrap’ and mitre all the timbers with quality timber material. This solved 2 problems, first, it made the timber work in appropriate scale with the house and second, it raised the timber quality to a suitable architectural level. In addition, Kettle River detailed and installed the curved railings and balustrade.
